Interactive Voice Response (IVR)

IVR systems are based on a simple phone voice call in order to provide the user location-based information directly through voice without a need for additional devices other than that phone itself. This fact makes IVR services extremely easy to implement technically and achieve a high penetration need.

An IVR traffic information system uses predefined location points, such as home and office locations, as key coordinates and at the request of the user searches for the fastest route between the locations depending on traffic conditions in real time. Once users have set the basic location coordinates either via a call center or a Website, navigation between the location options is done simply by dialing the requested menu option read by the IVR. Other personal setting can also be set and defined by the system.

Usually, a monthly subscriptions fee with or without other services is charged from users as well as airtime for calls.
